- Infravision: 60 ft.
- Surprise: In shadowy or poorly lit environments, cloakers surprise on 1–3.
- Light sensitivity: In fully illuminated environments, cloakers are –1 to hit and lose their surprise bonus.
- Moan: A chilling wail, the cloaker’s moan requires anyone within 60' to save vs. spells. Those who fail by less than five points flee (as cause fear) for 1d6 turns; those who fail their save by five points or more are frozen with fear for six rounds. A cloaker can moan up to three times per day.
- Tail attack: The cloaker's tail may strike anyone within 10'.
- Envelop: The cloaker may enfold a target with its body by rolling a successful attack against AC 9 [10]. If the attack hits, the target is wrapped within the cloaker and effectively paralyzed. Instead of attacking, the cloaker may inflict automatic bite damage on an enveloped target. While enveloping, the cloaker’s Armor Class is reduced to AC 6 [13], but half of any damage scored on the cloaker is transferred to the enveloped target. Cloakers may envelop only one target at a time.
- Magic abilities: In dark and shadowy environments, cloakers may invoke darkness 10’ radius at will, and they may further create 1d4 mirror images once per day.
