- Feeding: Gem leeches consume the value of their host gem at the rate of 10gp/month. As a gem’s value is depleted, it transforms into clear, unfaceted glass.
- Spores: Each month, the fungus releases spores; there is a 100% chance of infesting any gem touching the host gem and a 1/6 chance of infesting any gem in the same container. Spores can lie dormant on a depleted gem for any length of time.
- Elimination: Removing the fungus without damaging the gem is possible via remove curse or cloudkill. A finger of death or death spell creates a gempath (see Referee Notes below).
- Detection: Dwarfs have a 2/6 chance to determine if a gem is infested.
