#15: Furball
Invented by: Ancestors
Type: Entertainment, Utility
Complexity: High (C6)
We use it for: costume parties, disguises/infiltration, situational adaptation, staying warm in cold climates
Appearance: dependent on the variation brewed. Most iterations have the appearance and temperature of hot cocoa, viscosity of water.
Taste: vanilla bean and purple grapes (variations that stray from the foundation may result in a different taste).
Effect: designed specifically for humans and elves; a transformation draught that turns them into a human-animal hybrid, most often Halfies or vashaya'rei, with speciation (feline, canine, vulpine, avian, murine, etc) adapting to what best expresses the consumant. Scale and extent of transformation is dependent on the variation brewed, as different variations cater to different desired results. Weaker variations tend to turn the consumant into vashaya'rei (mostly human with animal additions such as tails, ears, claws, other minor adjustments); stronger variations tend to result in Halfies (full fur/feather/scale coverage, changes to musculature, bone structure, and body dimensions). Effects for non-human consumants are either nil or very weak.
Notes
- A good draught for helping people expand their perspectives. -Solebarr
- Far too many variations of this recipe. It's a devil to try to brew them all and figure out which one's best. The ones we keep in stock at the Neko are the Kasvei Furball (Halfie) and the Mitskali Furball (Vashaya'rei). In my experience those two are the most stable and reliable variations for their respective strengths. -Miqo
- There are many use cases for this draught. I recommend keeping a bottle of the Kasvei Furball on hand in case you should need a sudden disguise, or need to contend with subzero weather and lack the attire for it. -Mistofelees
- Makes for awesome pranks if you can slip it into someone's drink without them noticing. -Kitty
